I’m Mario Gamez, a 30-year-old MD currently living in Oaxaca, Mexico. I was born here but raised in Berwyn, IL, USA. Currently working as a general practitioner. I am married and have a 2-month newborn. Love spending my days with my family in the outdoors or at the beach.

I’m involved in first medical contact with the patient
I manage patient care when a specialist isn’t required
I assess patients thoroughly when advanced care is needed
I order labs and imaging, and refer to the appropriate specialist as necessary

The Inspiration Behind My Work
The inspiration behind what I do is knowing that the patient gives their trust to me for a proper assessment—and knowing this motivates me to provide the best care possible. Being an MD in a country like mine means understanding that the patient does not always have access to many resources, and that should be considered in their care. I accomplish this by truly caring for each person and doing everything properly.
